This library came about out of need on a personal project. I wanted something light that also used the most recent version of MongoDB. The leading library for MongoDB on PHP, Doctrine ODM, was using an older MongoDB extension and I also didn't want something that heavy.

I'm currently working on a version 2 that takes advantage of some things PHP 8 has added as well as give it more functionality to be more feature complete.
